One Point Perspective - Understand it like and Expert

Chris Brandley / Comment on this

Do you struggle with 1 point perspective? You are not alone!

I think it’s one of the most difficult concepts to learn and apply in your art. Just the slightest angle off and even the untrained eye can see that something’s not right.

If you know the tricks to creating depth using the laws of one, two, or multi-point perspective, and take the time to apply them, it will make a world of difference in your work.

In this blog, I will touch on 1 point perspective.

1 Point Perspective: when you have one vanishing point on the horizon line with all lines converge towards it. (Front views, seeing one side of an object (almost) flat or 90 degrees).

Common examples of such perspectives depict a view down the street, railways, or frontal interior views.

Watch my video for a simple explanation on when and how to use one-point perspective.
