I adore this café—not only for its incredible Tuscan cuisine, but for its pure whimsy. It sits within the elliptical Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, in the heart of the walled city of Lucca. This “square” is uniquely built atop the ruins of a 1st–2nd century Roman amphitheater, and today it’s encircled by colorful, medieval-style shops, homes, and inviting cafés that make the entire space feel like a living postcard.
