Ready to loosen up your brushwork and paint with confidence?
I’m so excited to invite you to my in-person painting workshop this March... Our theme for this event is ITALY! This is a popular workshop and spots tend to fill quickly, so don't delay!
The workshop takes place inside the beautiful Grand Hall Terrace at the NRH Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Our time together will include step by step demonstrations, one on one individual easel time, and fun exercises to learn how to loosen up to create bold, colorful paintings. Nothing is held back during the demo process as I share each color mixture used.
We will be painting in the “Alla Prima” method (working wet into wet). I will demo in Oils, but Acrylic painters are welcome!
It’s a chance to relax, paint, and learn in an encouraging environment — whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned painter. ??
I’ll be providing wonderful photo references from my recent trip to Italy — full of color, light, and inspiration!
Here’s what you’ll experience:
- How to layer transparent and opaque paints for vibrant, clean color
- How to transform an ordinary photo into an expressive painting from the heart
- How to infuse beautiful lighting into your work
- Color mixing techniques that make your palette sing
- How to design an eye-catching composition
- How to “see” like an Impressionist and suggest, rather than render, your subject
- Step-by-step demonstrations (I paint in oils, but acrylic painters are welcome!)
- One-on-one easel time + personal guidance
- Fun exercises to help you loosen up and create bold, expressive paintings
Nothing is held back — I share every color mix and technique!
Most importantly, we’ll have tons of fun painting together!
Acrylic painters: I recommend Golden Open Acrylics with medium to extend drying time. I’ll also provide color substitutions for those working in acrylics.
This is truly a fun-filled, inspiring workshop designed to help you grow and paint with freedom!
Come prepared for a relaxing, fun-filled learning experience that will take your painting to the next level.
*If you are not ready to invest in your own set of Oil or Acrylic paints, I have an option where you can pay a $50 fee to use the classroom Oil or Acrylic paints. Please let me know at least 2 weeks prior to the workshop start date.
You will still need to bring the other items on the supply list.

Grand Hall Terrace
We will meet in the Grand Hall Terrace. Park in the Library parking lot. As you are facing the Grand Hall Terrace, there is a ramp to the right if you’d rather not take the stairs. Once inside, take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd level. The terrace has 2 walls of windows so the lighting is wonderful!
There are lots of restaurants near the NRH Centre. You are welcome to head out to eat, or bring your lunch. A refrigerator is available, but no microwave.
